fragma

Fragma is a collection inspired by ancient Roman ruins from a distant future.

We travelled in Rome many times to discover some treasures: Palazzo Altemps, Diocleziano’s Thermae, Pantheon and many more. Everything seems stuck in time and we felt the power of the City. What captured our attention was the architectural force, the sculptural meaning of those buildings and we tried to retranslate those forms into small, every-day use objects.

The Truth

The Pillar

Using unbreakable materials, as stainless steel, creating contrast trough colors and textures and merging together a nordic minimalistic aesthetic with italian 80’s design, we tried to build some poetics and time-travelling forms: a stool, a shelf, a mirror, a lamp, a candle and more objects will be added in time.

The Front

Each time we come to Rome we experience it in a different way, and the light is constantly changing with the season.

We thought of a paradigma:

what an ancient roman walking into the future would think of his ruins? How the iconic can be translated into the ordinary? How the eternal can remain so?
